At A Loss For Words


I am at such a loss for words today, which for those of you who know me, know that is a very rare occurrence indeed.

My heart goes out to one of my best friends who is losing his wife. She is losing her fight, and it's been a long fight. This moment has been in the background of all our minds for a few years now, but it's still a huge shock and a massive feeling of loss and disaster just the same.

I won't go into details about his situation because it's not my place here. I just wanted to say that this friend of mine is one my dearest and oldest friends. And at this moment, I feel so lost, so powerless, so useless. And I wish I could just make it all good again for him. Because if there's one person in this world who deserves that, it's him.

I'm so sorry.
I understand what you're going through.I too lost one of my best friends to cancer back in 1997. It was heartbreaking.
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts.

I'm so very sorry. Losing a dear friend is so hard...and knowing you there is nothing you can do to make it right and better for their loved ones is frustrating. I hope you all make it through this horrible time...and are able to give each other strength. Hang in there!

I can see why you are at a loss of words. What words can say what you must be feeling for your friend. I feel ya, because i have been down that road a couple of times. Sorry to hear that she is going through such a hard time.

Mary, there are never words to say. There is no way to prepare for this. I am so sory you are having to go through this, but I feel certain you will do everything right and help your friend find the peace he needs right now to get through this. I'll be thinking about and praying for all 3 of you. Please keep us posted~

Well, guys, it's worse than I thought it could ever be. It's so bad, I had to pre-empt my previously scheduled post for today. Yeah, I know. Reeal baaad. Want Some Kielbasa?

I'm a little worried, a little scared, a little concerned, because who really wants a Polish sausage down their throat? Bet you don't get asked that question every day. I'm off to my first appointment with a gastroenterologist this afternoon, to start trying to get to the bottom of my gastrointestinal malaises that have plagued me oh so much for what seems like three lifetimes, but is only really about five years. Maybe six. No more than eight. Tops. Okay, so I've been very hesitant to get this thing investigated properly. Why? Well, it's not like it's a pimple on my cheek that needs a good squeeze, or an ingrown toenail that needs trimming, or even one of my many other ailments that are not so fun to have, and yet, not as bad as my tummy woes. My mother died last night. I don't know how to feel or what I feel. I am sad, but not just because of her passing. I am sad for a wasted lifetime of anger, resentment, and hatred. She'd been in and out of the hospital over the past few years and was getting on, but you know, when it actually happens, it's always a shock. It doesn't matter how much time you have to mull things over, knowing this is bound to happen sooner rather than later. It's still unbelievable when it finally does happen. This last time, she had been in the hospital for about two weeks, but had been doing quite well. They were just waiting for a bed to open up for her at a longer-term care facility so that she could further recuperate before returning home. She was in the hospital for multiple spinal fractures. Thank you, osteoporosis. Nothing at all related to her eventual demise. Last Sunday, she was walking the halls in the hospital. Monday, she didn't feel so great. Tuesday came and she b...
