I hate being home alone at night.

I wish I looked like Heidi Klum, Charlize Theron or Katherine Heigl. Honestly, any one would do.

I want to be 24 years old again, but knowing what I know now, and being who I am now.

Sometimes I hate myself.

I feel like a failure a lot of the time.

I wish I could swim well.

I still want to be a "successful" author before I die.

I was extremely insecure in my 20s.

I've pretended to be sick in the past.

I think I'm a pretty good person overall.

I have hair growing on my face. Thanks, perimenopause.

Oftentimes, I wish I could just be.

Insecurity is a big word and everyone face it at times.

Heidi Klum, Charlize Theron and Katherine Heigl don't look good when they wake up. We only ever see them with TONS of makeup on.

I was confident in my twenties...mostly because I was too self absorbed to know what a dork I was. Now I'm self concious because I am wise enough to see my dorkiness....denial was so much more fun!

Well, guys, it's worse than I thought it could ever be. It's so bad, I had to pre-empt my previously scheduled post for today. Yeah, I know. Reeal baaad. Yesterday, I went for my appointment with a new gastroenterologist to try and figure out what has been plaguing me all these years and making me lose all sorts of weight, and be a Type 7 most of the time. First things first. This doctor = awesome. I was worried he might be kind of weird, since who really decides to work on people's asses and intestinal inner workings? No one in their right mind, that's who. But this doctor, he was okay. Really thorough, really smart, but I honestly think he's on Quaaludes or whatever those things are that make you hyper (are Quaaludes uppers or downers?). My mother died last night. I don't know how to feel or what I feel. I am sad, but not just because of her passing. I am sad for a wasted lifetime of anger, resentment, and hatred. She'd been in and out of the hospital over the past few years and was getting on, but you know, when it actually happens, it's always a shock. It doesn't matter how much time you have to mull things over, knowing this is bound to happen sooner rather than later. It's still unbelievable when it finally does happen. This last time, she had been in the hospital for about two weeks, but had been doing quite well. They were just waiting for a bed to open up for her at a longer-term care facility so that she could further recuperate before returning home. She was in the hospital for multiple spinal fractures. Thank you, osteoporosis. Nothing at all related to her eventual demise. Last Sunday, she was walking the halls in the hospital. Monday, she didn't feel so great. Tuesday came and she b...

I'm a little worried, a little scared, a little concerned, because who really wants a Polish sausage down their throat? Bet you don't get asked that question every day. I'm off to my first appointment with a gastroenterologist this afternoon, to start trying to get to the bottom of my gastrointestinal malaises that have plagued me oh so much for what seems like three lifetimes, but is only really about five years. Maybe six. No more than eight. Tops. Okay, so I've been very hesitant to get this thing investigated properly. Why? Well, it's not like it's a pimple on my cheek that needs a good squeeze, or an ingrown toenail that needs trimming, or even one of my many other ailments that are not so fun to have, and yet, not as bad as my tummy woes.
